A highly knowledgeable venture capitalist, Tony brings to the role 25 years of experience in identifying and investing in early stage businesses with a potential for high growth.

Early in his career, Tony managed a university start-up company based in Imperial College, London. The development and subsequent sale of the business to EMI gave him hands-on experience of the issues and sensitivities of starting and growing early stage businesses.

After a period with Logica, Tony started his venture capital career with 3i, where he was responsible for investment in early stage and start-up IT companies in the USA and Europe. Following this, as a director of Gresham Trust plc, he was responsible for a portfolio of 15 later stage unquoted companies. He then spent five years in the emerging markets of Eastern Europe before returning to take up a post as chief executive of Cambridge Research and Innovation Ltd.

Tony is a non-executive director of Foresight Technology VCT plc, a successful venture capital trust, and Cascade Fund Management Limited, the challenge fund for five of the South East's leading universities.
