Learning Objective
To achieve a greater understanding of how some specific social media tools work both practically and commercially.
Outcome
As a result of attending participants will
• be able to assess whether the tools have any applicability for them
• be able to determine how much more time and effort to invest in this area
• know where to focus that effort and what results might be achievable
• have the practical skills to be able to use these tools
Scope
The session will explore Blogging, LinkedIn and Twitter
Facilitation and style
This will be a facilitated peer learning session led by Thames Valley IGT Portfolio Director Bob Bradley. As a business leader Bob has been exploring the area and is able to share his learning help the group to apply it and develop it for their own businesses. It will be practical workshop with Bob illustrating tools and techniques live on a PC using participants' real businesses as examples. Each period of illustration will be followed by practical workshop time during which participants can immediately apply their learning and experiment with applying the tools and techniques to their own business, with Bob available to assist and peers available to discuss.
Who should attend
Web literate business leaders interested in the business application of the tools and techniques rather than on the technology. The workshop is not suitable for people whose interest is in the technology and tools themselves.
You will need to bring
A wifi enabled laptop PC for practical work.
