Speaker : Tiffany Kemp from Devant Ltd
Tiffany comes from an engineering and law background and spent many years negotiating multi-million pound contracts before setting up her company Devant. Devant provide commercial and contractual support to small and medium-sized companies and has helped over 400 to struture negotiate and manage more effective commercial relationships.
Many small companies consider that using independent sales agents, or sales outsourcing companies, is a low-risk, low-cost way to supplement their sales resources. Recent developments in case law, however, mean that there are some quite scary risks to our clients in doing so - and, looking from the other side, some extensive rights that any individuals or companies providing these services can call upon, under the law.
This essential seminar highlights some of the risks and issues of using sales agents, and the trend of the Courts to give ever more protection to agents - even when the agent may be a bigger organisation than the one using its services.
It's an interesting and very illuminating topic, and was identified in a recent Devant workshop as being "the most valuable and disturbing thing I learned in the day!"
